Mustard Meadow
In a number of hayfields around the area, you see a profusion of mustard flowers. My husband said the mustard came in with alfalfa seed several years ago; thus the great masses of yellow.
I think it looks quite lovely but it doesn't make for very good hay. This field needs to be reseeded.
Very pretty photos... the yellows of springtime.
ReplyDeletesuch pretty views...i really like the shot with the fence post!
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing a lot of it growing by the roadside around here and some in pastures.
ReplyDeleteWe have successfully sprayed to get them out of the fields that we have cut for hay. It may be less pricey than reseeding, but I have no idea. We mostly spray because they aggravate Lee's allergies!
ReplyDeleteWe see similar scenes in fields around our area, more often they are covered with purple as well, henbit or dead nettle.
ReplyDeleteLove the one with the fence post!
