I remember that day also. I think many people do. I was in college and my friend came into class and announced some planes had been hijacked. My dad was in Northern VA and my cousin was freaking out b/c her fiance worked close to the Pentagon. All phone lines were busy forever it seemed. I, too, wish love would take over. "Om mane padme om" - the mantra of compassion i learned in yoga. If only everyone knew it and opened their hearts.
Like the day Kennedy was shot, I'll always remember where I was and what I was doing at the time. I am reliving the horror on MSNBC...still unbelievable. It was the day our world changed.
I remember a friend from work calling me at home, crying. She is a native of New York and was terrified that she knew people in the Trade Centers. That is how I found out about the attacks. The feeling of helplessness was overwheming. "Who would do this?" was the question everyone asked over and over. It's hard to believe it's 7 years later already.
