Insides of a Septic System

My husband retired from the fire department to install septic tanks, which was a second job he worked with his father until his father passed away.

These are photos of the insides of a septic system. Or some of it, anyway. The tanks are not shown; they're already buried. City dwellers have no clue about such things, but they're common out here in the sticks.

  1. I wish we'd gotten a bigger one out here for the trailer. We were having to get it emptied almost yearly. As much as I hated to, I began putting most of my toilet paper in the waste can instead of flushing it. My bladder has gotten pretty weak with age, causing me to use a lot more TP than I used in my younger days; I'm almost always up at least four times at night, sometimes more. Just to pee a few drops. Too much info? LOL

    1. You might consider a bidet in that case. They make one that screws onto the sink spout.

    2. That would probably be preferable.
