The blood work came back as not showing any sign of a clot, so that's good news.
The bad news my calf is remains swollen and there is a tangible knot there. It's also painful.
It most likely is a varicose vein.
It's nothing life-threatening, anyway. Just something else to deal with.
Thanks to everyone for the words of encouragement. You're a fine bunch of gentle readers!
Good. Can't they make a duplex sonograph or an ultrasound to get a complete diagnoses?
ReplyDeleteThey can. But it's expensive and I'm at the beginning of the year on my insurance, which means my costs are higher. It's also a half-day thing at the hospital. Since I've had something similar twice before where we did do the ultrasound and it was negative, it seems logical to assume this is not a thrombosis given the blood work. If it becomes worse or doesn't improve, then I will have the ultrasound.
DeleteGlad your test was okay. Maybe a warm compress will help?
ReplyDeleteThis is good news. I'm glad the tests eliminated the more serious maladies, but I'm sorry you're still uncomfortable. Have you tried one of those compression sleeves?
