For this is a time for courage and a time for challenge. Neither conformity nor complacency will do. Neither the fanatics nor the faint-hearted are needed. And our duty as a party is not to our party alone, but to the Nation, and, indeed., to all mankind. Our duty is not merely the preservation of political power but the preservation of peace and freedom.
So let us not be petty when our cause is so great. Let us not quarrel amongst ourselves when our Nation's future is at stake. Let us stand together with renewed confidence in our cause--united in our heritage of the past and our hopes for the future--and determined that this land we love shall lead all mankind into new frontiers of peace and abundance. - John F. Kennedy
Brilliant words for a time such as this. Thank you for sharing your peace vibe with us today. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I need to say "Amen!" at the end Kennedy's quote. Now, more than ever, his words are the truth.
ReplyDeleteBest peace blessings to you!

Love the JFK quote and it is heartbreaking that we are nowhere closer to being united than we were when he spoke those words. We're even worse off than we were back then.
ReplyDeleteWise words - a unity and harmony that seems impossible - but it IS possible - if humans choose to use the power of love instead of the love of power.
ReplyDeleteBack then, we couldnt imagine a world as divided and in distress as it is now. I hope we can imagine a better one going forward.
ReplyDeletePeace to you. Your post rings of truth. We cannot give up or give in.
ReplyDeleteThe quote is purrfect. Thanks for sharing with us! Purrs Marv
ReplyDeleteThe speech he never gave. After a day in Dallas, he and Jackie were supposed to fly to Austin for a Democratic fundraiser. In context, it would have been a daring speech. Kind of a smackdown to his party, which he felt was becoming entirely too partisan. Haunting, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThat's a great quote by JFK! Thanks for sharing. Peace to you!
ReplyDelete#8 I been watching "Murder She Wrote" on reruns.
