*Virginia Creeper* not poison oak. I am very allergic to poison oak and will break out just looking at it.

This is either a wild violet or the common periwinkle, I am not sure which.

CountryDew - that top photo has 5 leaves - that's Parthenocissus quinquefolia aka Virginia Creeper, not Poison Oak, which only has 3.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, btw. I was stuck at home this weekend, myself - wish I could have tramping around in the woods, too!
Ron - you are right. My bad.
ReplyDeleteI found Poison Oak yesterday while cleaning out my flower beds. I did my best to destroy it. My kids are highly allergic too.
ReplyDeleteI never know what I'm walking in or handling while off the beaten path. It's very unsettling. I really must do better at learning!
ReplyDeleteTree Trunk - HA HA HA HA HA
ReplyDeletePoison Oak v. Virginia Creeper - I can't ever remember the difference so I just avoid then all. I'm thinking about wrapping myself in Saran Wrap next time I go out in the woods. Between the poison ick family and the ticks...
Tree Trunk - HA HA HA HA HA - thanks for that laugh!
