Yellow Iris

The iris was one of my mother's favorite flowers, and it is also one of mine.

These yellow ones came from her garden, transplanted rhizomes that I nurtured. They continue to bloom annually as they have for almost 30 years now. I always feel peaceful when I look at the iris.

  1. Just looking at the photos made me feel peaceful too. The soft yellow of it's petals is the perfect yellow.

  2. I like the idea of bringing a plant from your mother's garden. Then every spring you can see it bloom and think happy thoughts of her. Do you suppose I could go to our old house in California and ask to dig up an Iris? My parents had scads of the purple kind.
