Thursday Thirteen

We purchased a game camera last year, and I have enjoyed putting it out and seeing what it captures. I have been hoping for a bear but none so far. Here are thirteen shots from the game camera that were taken in September:

Squirrel (there were about 135 pictures of squirrels on the camera).

Doe, a deer, a female deer!

Critter. Probably a raccoon but not sure.

My favorite dear on his tractor.

A little too close for the close-up.

Gobble gobble! Turkey lurkey!

Ready for Thanksgiving!

The Deer family. Not the Von Trapp family.

Foxy-Loxy making the rounds.

My favorite dear again on the backside this time.

An unknown trespasser! I hid his face (he's not my kid, after all), but if you know this fellow, please tell his mom to keep him home and out of the fields, especially during hunting season. He might get hurt.

Posing beautifully for the camera.

Little fawns.

Thursday Thirteen is played by lots of people; there is a list here. I've been playing for a while and this is my 262nd time to do a list of 13 on a Thursday.

  1. Interesting shots. The third one looks more like a groundhog to me than a raccoon, and I love the second from bottom deer pic. My Post: Banned Books

  2. Trespasser? Yikes... he indeed needs to stay closer to his own home during hunting season... Hope his mom knows.

  3. Great pictures. Even the kid, what I could see of him, was cute! It would be fun to see what was happening here when we are asleep. The dog usually keeps the critters away during the day!

    1. They aren't that expensive and they are lots of fun. You can get them at Gander Mountain, and probably WalMart.

  4. Oh, that is really cool, Anita! We've talked about getting one of these cameras since we have so many critters here (hopefully, mostly the four-legged kind). I wanted to ask: Does it pivot on its own? I noticed that the background of the one of your "favorite dear on his tractor" is different from the others, so I wondered if it pivots when it senses movement.

    1. Beth, it doesn't pivot. We move it around and change the location.

  5. Ha ha on your special deer. I'd love to get my hands on a secret critter camera. Do you set it up to run all night?

    1. It has an infrared camera and takes photos at night. As long as the battery holds up, it runs 24/7.

  6. The tractor, being blue, is clearly not a John Deere. Nothing runs like a Deere. (I am not a tractor salesman). Cool photos.

  7. That's what boys do. They explore in the woods. Obviously he's an animal lover since he's wearing a Humane Society t-shirt and so that's cool. Of course the danger is accidentally getting shot.

I wish we had one of these cameras when the Evils were vandalizing and robbing us when we lived in Ferrum.
