Hatchlings

The mockingbird nest in the tomato plant now has baby birds!

The nest

A baby bird mouth waiting on mama

Here I am, mama! Feed me! Feed me!

Here's mama (or maybe daddy) but not feeding - getting ready to attack the photographer!

It is very hard to pick tomatoes when a bird is diving at your head.

  1. There are a bunch of mockingbirds around my house. They love to attack my cats.

That should be fun to watch the babies grow.

  2. Hope you are wearing a hat when picking tomatoes. Mocking birds love to dive at hair.

  3. What an amazing sight. Great photos. Mockingbirds can be terribly annoying, but I still enjoy them.

Praying for you guys and the rest of the family.

  4. Maybe you should buy a hard hat. :-) Our mockingbirds here have already raised two broods this summer. I hear those young ones screeching for their dinner all over our property---they are so loud! I love our mockingbirds, though, and how they sing in the darkness of night.

Thinking of you and your family...

  5. We ended up with a birds nest in our potted flowers this year. It was fun seeing them hatch and how fast they grew!
