Field Damage

When I went down to get the mail yesterday afternoon, I was greeted with the site of damage to our hayfield:

Some idiot decided to take a joy ride in the snow.

This will be a costly repair for us; this half of the field will have to be tilled, smoothed, and reseeded.

We're talking thousands of dollars.

This is the second time this winter someone has done this to this field.

This is not a problem we have had in the past. I called the sheriff's office, as we did the last time.

Apparently this was done between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., so in the daylight.

Maybe you saw who did it?

They need to make reparations. When the culprit(s) is caught, we will prosecute fully.

People don't respect others any more.

  1. I am so sorry about that! I just don't understand some people these days who destroy other peoples property or worse. My daughter woke up yesterday morning to a very graphic drawing in the snow of something male, if you get my drift, on her front lawn. Looks like all us decent people are going to have to fence ourselves in!!!!

  3. Some people are just plain stupid and inconsiderate. I hope you and/or the police can sleuth it out. I drive past your driveway every day at 7:45 and 11:15am. and I didn't notice any vehicles in the field. I think I would have noticed something nuts like that. Sorry!

  5. Be sure to put up a no trespassing sign if you can. We were told that you can't press charges for anyone on your property unless you have posted a sign prior... we posted one. Sorry this happened. :(
