My Neighbor's Chickens

We do not have chickens, but a neighbor I visited on Saturday does.

These belong to her. Thank you, Joy, for letting me photograph your birds!

  1. I miss my chickens!! Barred Plymouth Rocks are my favorites, but the Rhode Islands are such good layers!

  2. no chickens on your farm? Oh dear... so you won't be able to help me with tonight's bbq question (nobody knew the answer) about the life-span of a chicken... Google here I come! :)

  3. No chickens here either. Would be nice to have fresh eggs, but that would require having a rooster and they are too noisy.

    1. You do not need a rooster to have eggs. You just have to buy more chicks when needed.

  4. They are beautiful. I can't wait to get more chickens again someday. But that requires building something so it'll be a while. I'm lucky I get my eggs from my neighbor. But I miss watching them and hearing the rooster crow in the morning. It doesn't feel like a real farm without chickens!

  5. I love chickens and grew up with them. The monkeys and my dad would race for the coop when the hens started clucking to announce a new egg. Dad usually lost the race. I would love to have them,. Lee would love not to have them.
