Winter's Over

The hay fields are starting to green up!

I have begun the process of installing fences around my flower beds to keep away the rabbits and deer. I will put up a taller fence of plastic netting behind the short fence - this will be to keep out deer. The rabbits eat the plastic netting so one must have two fences these days.

Oh daffodil! How I love your yellow blooms! You are the herald of spring, trumpeting out the news.

Perfect pansy, thank you so much for giving my deck a little color!

Purple and blue pansies, I adore you!

  1. I was a pansy in a school play with a cardboard cut out for my face when I was in grade school. Oh what a memory you have invoked for me.

  2. Lovely pictures. I never have had pansies, but I think they are so pretty.

  3. You live in such a beautiful place. Hope the bunny and deer fences work. I had no idea that rabbits eat the plastic netting. Seems like it would taste pretty nasty. I would love the see your deer-proof fence when you finish it. I have just started having deer problems here (they jump over two barbed-wire fences!) and I think I'm going to have to take some kind of action to protect my many flowers and shrubberies.

  4. What a cute fence! Thought I would mention that my Irish spring soap is being nibbled away. I'm pretty sure I spotted an opossum walking away from it before dawn one morning. The varmint battle rages : )

  5. I don't feel like winter is over today...it's cold, rainy, dreary and frizzy. I just hope my peach blossoms survive tonight's temps.

  6. Will a pretty little picket fence really be enough? I swear, it seems like you have to wire over the entire yard to keep the varmints out.

I gave you the Honest Scrap Award today. Come by.
