Thursday Thirteen

1. I wonder what it says about us as a society that is about a video game?

2. I like Pop Tarts but I don't eat them very often. Blueberry is my favorite but it can give me heartburn.

3. Today is the day my parents' house burned down in 1989.

4. It was hit by lightning.

5. My wedding gown burned in the fire. My mother was storing it for me.

6. I saw nine turkeys in the field yesterday and was greatly relieved.

7. I was afraid the logging efforts next door had forced them to leave.

8. I haven't had any chocolate to speak of since the middle of June.

9. I haven't had any root beer, either.

10. I have, however, lost nearly 10 pounds.

11. The sun is shining very brightly today.

12. My efforts at Thursday Thirteen today are pretty lame.

13. I give myself an "E" for the effort and a "D" for the results. I haven't played for a few weeks because I've had many other things on my mind. It shows.

Thursday Thirteen is played by lots of people; you can learn more about it here. My other Thursday Thirteens are here.

  1. Well, I don't think your Thursday Thirteen is lame at all--quite interesting!
Congratulations on the weight loss--you have far more will power than I to do without chocolate for a whole month!

  2. LOL! I have to give you an "A" for your efforts. I enjoyed this one a lot. Last night while I was tossing and turning trying to sleep, I wondered if you were going to do a Thursday Thirteen. So glad to see that you did! I think about weird stuff, don't I?!

Congrats on the weight loss! You are a braver woman than I am. I couldn't stop eating chocolate if I had a gun to my head, esp. around PMS time. Ugh!

  3. No chocolate + no root beer = 10 pounds off? Pretty darn good!

  4. My family home was burnt down too. By the town through eminent domain. I was twenty and too lame to go and get anything of mine that I wanted. Or maybe I couldn't bear to see it go.

I enjoy your comments and always appreciate the opportunity to visit the blogs of my readers. I hope you have a great day!
