Wasteland of the Free

Donna at Just Me has posted the words to a song that I found very powerful (the words, not necessary the singing of it).

It's called Wasteland of the Free by Iris Dement and it is a good reflection of how I feel about things in the U.S. much of the time.

Take a look.

  1. One of my favorites, CountryDew - I even put together a video using it as theme music several months ago:

  2. Wow, those lyrics sum up my feelings much of the time, too. I have always liked Iris Dement, though her voice takes a little getting used to. My favorite album of hers is "My Life." Some great lyrics there, too.
Thanks for sharing that link, Anita.

  3. I fell in love with Iris' voice the first time I heard it, although I know it's not that way for everyone. Her voice combined with her lyrics can be one of the most moving experiences you can have. Catch her live; you won't regret it.
